SETI@home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). SETI@home was created by, and is based at, the Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley.

BOINC is a software platform for distributed computing using volunteer computer resources, and provides the framework for SETI@home and other projects. It is based at the Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley.
